Digital creative studio Social Control has recently joined forces with seasoned sales rep Susan Bennett. Bennett will be spearheading sales initiatives in the west coast territory. Social Control signed Bennett for her record of accomplishments, firm grasp of digital arts, marketing strategy, and emphasis on creative as the driving force behind successful branding. The contract went into effect on the 15th of October.
President/CEO Seth Silver has a history of success with Bennett, securing her services at the last two agencies he has managed. “The characteristics we see as distinguishing Susan from other successful reps are her unstoppable energy and incomparable embrace and understanding of the emerging platforms that are the future of our industry,” comments Silver.
Bennett’s educational background of fine art and dramatic literature paired with her unique interest in emerging creative technology and urban culture helped her to cultivate an impressive and varied career history. She got her start in sales and marketing at D’Arcy-MacManus Masius (now part of Publicis Groupe) and scripting fundraisers for PBS, before becoming a successful agent to international fine artists for many years.
In the late nineties, Bennett merged her passion for the arts, talent for sales and interest in digital creative by teaming with Seth Epstein to launch the commercial division of Fuel, a motion graphics boutique acquired by Razorfish for $30 million. She followed up this success by being instrumental to launch the graphic design and live action production company Brand New School.
Having developed a reputation for excellence in representation and gaining traction in entertainment and marketing, Susan has represented feature film directors such as Darren Aronofsky, Michael Mann, Jean Pierre Jeunet, Luc Besson, Peter Berg, Rob Cohen and Michael Bay. She continues to work with design firms and production companies across the nation.
Ms. Bennett cites her devoted “interest in digital and do-it-yourself artists who came from punk rock, graffiti, and skateboarding” scenes as a point of professional kinship between herself and Silver, undoubtedly one source of the synergy that makes these two a successful combination.
